A unique location

Restaurant Pizzeria Casa al Torchio is located in Bolzano's historic centre.

Inside this historic building, Ivan and Willy Waldner continuously elaborate culinary proposals inspired by traditional South Tyrolean cuisine.

Its privileged position allows the restaurant to offer unique and refined food and wine in a fairytale location.

Ivan and Willy Waldner have been running this unique, historic restaurant for more than 20 years to make it a pleasure to have lunch or dinner with them.

The wine cellar underneath is open to the public and private events are also organised in an atmospheric and unique setting.

Days are also organised to promote South Tyrolean wine through tastings of the best local producers.

Restaurant in the historic centre with traditional revisited specialities

Restaurant Pizzeria Casa al Torchio is located in an atmospheric palazzo in the historic city centre, in the heart of Bolzano.

The building boasts ancient origins, dating back to the 19th century.

As early as the end of the 19th century, the restaurant was a characteristic building with a courtyard and tavern. Around 1786, following renovation by the then-owner, the premises in the old town acquired its current appearance and became Restaurant Casa al Torchio.

On the ground floor, the owner sold specialities such as candied fruit, preserved fruit and meat. Next door was the original tavern furnished with folding tables. Positioned like a bench is a large old grape press tree, from which the name of the restaurant derives.
